Special techniques and experiences regarding the maintenance of spray guns

2025-10-13

Let's start by discussing the customer complaint today: First, let's talk about the type of paint sprayer the customer is using - an automatic sprayer, the main air control switch, and the atomizing air pressure. However, this air pressure only takes effect when the main air is turned on. The customer stated that under all the conditions being met, the sprayer only dispensed oil but no air, thus no atomization occurred, and the sprayed paint was in a straight line. First, I analyzed that the paint could be dispensed, which proved that the sprayer was operating normally. Then, I checked if the atomization regulating valve was closed. After the customer confirmed that the atomization regulating valve was also at the maximum position, I continued to investigate the cause.

However, all the necessary checks have been conducted, and it has been proven that there is no problem with the spray gun. So what could be the cause? Since the spray gun is installed on the automatic coating line, it might be a problem with the pipeline. There could be a control issue with the atomizing air line. In this case, the customer needs to remove the spray gun from the automatic coating line and adjust it separately. During the adjustment, the spray gun can spray normally and the atomization effect is very good, which once again proves that there is no problem with the spray gun. Therefore, it must be a pipeline problem. When we tested the pipeline, the atomizing air pressure was very low, and it was unable to drive the spray gun for atomization. It is possible that the pump's power is insufficient to drive the spray gun, so the painting cannot be done under negative pressure and the lack of atomization is very likely to occur.

From this, we can conclude:

First point: When analyzing a problem, proceed step by step until the root cause is identified. Do not make hasty jumps; once you have examined one point, move on to the next without returning to the previous one.

Second point: The problem should not be focused solely on one thing. Everything is interconnected, and especially in the case of an automatic painting line that requires coordination among various components.

Over the past few years, many customers have reported problems with the spray gun. But later, it turned out to be a problem with other tools. Cooperation among people is necessary to do things well, and the same is true for tools and tools.

The maintenance of the spray gun basically involves the following points:

If it gets clogged, we'll clean it.

2. The atomization has stopped. Clean and check if the air pressure is sufficient.

3. The paint is applied in intermittent layers, which may not be completely clean and may contain bubbles. The paint needs to be filtered again.

4. For other issues, as long as you don't damage the spray gun, and without needing to replace any parts, most minor problems with the spray gun can be solved by yourself.
